Synopsis

Mamie lives in Gaspésie in a house that faces away from the sea. When the old woman receives an expropriation notice, her cloistered world crumbles. Her granddaughter witnesses this uprooting and starts to question the lack of real ties between them.

Director's BIO

Janice Nadeau • Born on December 31st, 1977 in Gatineau (Canada)
Biography: Janice Nadeau worked as the artistic director for various organizations. She has illustrated many books and is a three-time recipient of the prestigious Governor General’s Award for her illustrations. In 2014, she co-directed her first animated film with Nicola Lemay, “No Fish Where to Go”. Her latest project, “Mamie”, is a very personal film and a coproduction between Folimage and The National Film Board of Canada.
