Director's BIO

Alejandra Tomei and Alberto Coucerio are stop motion artists and the producers and creative minds behind
Animas-Film. Using stop-motion, model making, compositing, motion graphics, visual effects and digital
techniques, Animas combines art, craft and technology to create their own unique blend of animation. In
collaboration with their partners and co-workers they continually explore and improve their art and craft, and
create audience engaging animated imagery. In addition to working on animated productions and creative development for clients, they also enjoy the full
spectrum creative process as writers, animators and producers, producing their own original animated
features.
Their film “TV City” was featured at more than 30 international film festivals, and had numerous special
screenings including at the MoMA in New York City. It was honored with many awards including a prestigious
Cinéfoundation prize at the in 2003 Cannes Film Festival, and Best Animation Film at the Buenos Aires Film

Their puppets were displayed at Animation, Comics & Games Museum Jilin Animation Institute Changchun,
China from 2011–2014.
