Leonid Shmelkov was born in Moscow in 1982.
In 2005 graduated from Moscow State University of Printing, Graphic Arts department. Since 2005 participating in exhibitions, making pictures for children's magazines, illustrating books. Since 2007 a member of the Commonwealth of illustrators "Magic Saw".
In 2009 graduated from School-studio "SHAR" in Moscow on a specialty director of animation films. Currently working as a director, designer and animator, as well as drawing illustrations for children's books and making workshops with children.
